FESTIVAL UPDATE - COSGROVE HALL TO OPEN FESTIVAL- May 08

Mark Hall from Cosgrove Hall makers of Count DUCKULA! & Danger Mouse will be opening the Festival at 10:30 on Thursday. As well as bringing some classics to the TV screen, Cosgrove Hall have also been working on bringing some oldies back to the screen as well, with an exciting new look, they include Bill & Ben (The flowerpot men) as well as Postman Pat.

FESTIVAL UPDATE - GUEST SPEAKERS CONFIRMATION - April 08

Chris Bowden, Executive Producer at Mackinnon and Saunders and formerly Cosgrove Hall Films will be taking a stroll through the 16 year history of the renowned Manchester based puppet making firm with the help of some exclusive behind the scenes material. This talk will offer an insight into some of the company’s past projects; from children’s classics such as “Bob the Builder,” “Roary the Racing Car” and “Postman Pat” to the Tim Burton feature films “Mars Attacks” and “The Corpse Bride.” Chris will also provide insight into how animated shows are developed with an intriguing look at the production of Mackinnon and Saunders current hit CBBC show “Frankenstein’s Cat.”

Hibbert Ralph animation will present a showcase of their work spanning 30 years as one of the leading animations studios in the UK.

Kim Burdon, Gethyn Davies & Shaun Magher will showcase their work, which will also include a retrospective of The Iconic FAMOUS GROUSE commercials.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Pat Gavin will be joining us as a guest speaker at Stoke Your Fires. Pat is the BAFTA award winning director - animator - designer - artist of some of the most well known title sequences, commercials ever seen. His work includes titles for the South Bank show, Poirot, and commercials for Martell and Johnnie Walker.

Chapman Entertainment are leaders in the creation of pre-school brands. Under the creative control of Keith Chapman, the creator of Bob the Builder, Fifi and the Flowertots has become the number one brand for pre-school girls and Roary the Racing Car is destined the the same success.

Greg Lynn, managing director of Chapman Entertaimnet will be a guest at this years Stoke Your Fires and will discuss 'How to develop a leading brand in a pre-school market'.

FESTIVAL UPDATE - STORYBOARD MASTERCLASS - March 08

We are pleased to announce, in conjunction with Animation Forum WM, a Storyboarding Masterclass to be delivered by David J. Aldred, renowned storyboard artist behind the movie Eragon and commercials such as the popular VW Lupo TV advert which featured 'the mad baby rampaging through a hospital.'

The masterclasses will then be followed by lunch, where animators from the Forum and beyond will have a chance to network over a bite to eat.
